Watch out, Bangalore! After QuEST, it is
now the turn of the Pune based Neilsoft
Ltd to start a centre in Hubli, Karnataka.
Like QuEST, Neilsoft too is a specialist
engineering services and solutions provider
- with international clients in the construction
industrial machinery, transportation, energy
and software verticals. Says Managing Director
Ketan Bakshi, "The engineering services
outsourcing industry has been growing at
more than 40 per cent over the last two
years and is at an inflection point. To
ride this, wave, Neilsoft has drawn up a
blueprint for growing 10-fold in the next
six years." The Hubli engineering centre,
he says, will grow to 100 people in the
next 18 months, while the company will double
its capacity to over 1,000 seats. The engineering
services space has its own challenges of
scalability and characteristics that are
distinctly different from information technology
services, he points out. Why Hubli? Having
evaluated Aurangabad, Nashik and Hubli,
the company found that wages will rise faster
in the other two cities. The presence of
several engineering colleges also guarantees
the availability of fresh engineering talent
in Hubli, which Bakshi says will emerge
as the next big city in the engineering
space.
