Job Overview

A dynamic and challenging Process and Instrumentation role offering an opportunity to bring a new product to the U.S. market. The specific role is supporting sales and application of the new P&ID Process Designer for Visio, working with and providing overall direction to other members of the Neilsoft organization.

  • Support the P&ID Process Designer for Visio sales team in pre-sales activities, including demonstrating and presenting P&ID Process Designer for Visio solutions
  • Technical liaison to the sales team (mix of technical and sales - more technical than sales)
  • Engage in training, technical support, and consulting services for the product line
  • Develop product demonstrations
  • Demonstrate P&ID Process Designer for Visio to influencers, decision makers and end users
  • Participate in tradeshows and executive briefings
  • Address and participate in blogs, forums and other social media
  • Generate technical collateral such as application notes
  • Understand and interpret customer specifications
  • Provide direct solution support, including performing engineering services with the P&ID Process Designer for Visio
  • Understanding of competitive products

Skills & Abilities

  • Listening skills

  • Knowledge of selling techniques
  • Must have hands-on experience with AutoCAD
  • Product knowledge in at least 1, preferably 2 or more of the following:
  • SmartPlant P&ID (Intergraph)
  • AutoCAD P&ID
  • CADWorx P&ID (Intergraph)
  • EPLAN P&ID
  • AutoPLANT P&ID (Bentley)
  • AVEVA P&ID (Aveva)
  • Experience in training and educating users on software and/or supporting software applications in an organization
  • Effective communication skills and proven experience to handle clients, both written and verbally, in a professional setting
  • Ability to perform business system analyst tasks such as troubleshooting problems and analyzing alternative solutions, application testing skills.
  • With minimal supervision, demonstrate the ability to solve, interpret and resolve sometimes complex problems
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions quickly
  • Ability to offer recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgement that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation and government laws
  • Ability to research and analyze various different types of information

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Controls or Instrumentation Engineering
  • 2-3 years’ experience in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering
  • Experience in process design or process plant design, including creating, interpreting P&ID
