Structural Analysis:
  • 3D-Space frame analysis for building structures.

Preliminary Structural Designs / Drawings:

  • Evaluation and selection of primary structural systems.
  • Preliminary foundation layout.
  • Preliminary analysis, establishing critical member sizes for preliminary elements.
  • Primary framing drawings (1:200), with sizes of primary members only and indicative structural connection types.
  • Preliminary assessment of floor vibration and building movement.
  • Identify high risk / cost elements in structure.
  • Preliminary input to Architect on architectural elements.
Detailed Structural Designs / Drawings:
  • Design basis and detailed structural analysis.
  • Determination of all primary and most secondary structural element sizes, except for secondary elements that can be adequately covered by non-specific design codes.
  • Drawings (1:100) defining all structural elements, including plans, elevations, sections and details with adequate cross-referencing.
  • Layout and size of secondary framing members (stairs, canopies, platforms, lifts etc.).
  • Connection details or specifying forces for a propriety connection system (as per requirement).
  • Construction sequences and positions of control / construction joints.
  • Reinforcing details and bill of materials (as per requirement).
Designs / Drawings for High-rise Building Foundation systems:
  • Isolated footings
  • Combined footings
  • Pile foundation
  • Raft foundation.
  • Stability checks like bearing pressure, overturning, sliding, uplift.
  • Design for bending moments & checking for one way shear, punching shear etc.
Designs / Drawings for High-rise Building Superstructure:
  • Design / Drawings of Columns / Beams / Slabs / Stair cases / Shear walls / Retaining walls / Water Tanks.
  • Standards for design – ACI, AISC, BS codes
  • Knowledge of following BS & ACI codes: BS8110 (part 1, 2, 3), BS5950 (part 1, 2, 3, 4) BS 8004, BS6399 (part 1, 2, 3), BS4466, BS 8666. ACI 318, ACI 315.
